Pastor Copeland was raised in a Christian home in the North Georgia mountains. He was saved at the age of 12 and surrendered to be preacher of the gospel at the age of 16. He attended The Crown College in Powell, Tennessee. Prior to coming to Sewell Valley Baptist Church, Pastor Copeland served as Assistant and Youth Pastor for 12 years.

Pastor Brian accepted the call to be Pastor of Sewell Valley Baptist Church in August 2024 and is re-launching Rainelle Christian Academy in August 2026. He is married to his wife, Stacey, and they have two children - Charley Grace and Blake.
